Canada Visitor Visa and Super Visa from Bangladesh
Citizens of Bangladesh generally need a visitor visa to visit Canada. An electronic travel authorization (eTA) is mainly for travellers from visa-exempt countries, and some visa-required nationalities can use one only if they meet specific conditions. Check IRCC's entry requirements tool for your passport. For the general rules, see our visitor visa guide and our Super Visa guide. This page covers the points that matter most for applicants in Bangladesh.
What officers look for
An officer must be satisfied that you are a genuine visitor who will leave at the end of your stay. They look at: - The purpose of your trip, which should be clear and believable - Your ties to Bangladesh, such as a job, business, family responsibilities or property - Funds for the trip, and where they came from - Your travel history, including previous refusals
Strong ties are shown with documents, not statements. Employment letters, tax records, business registration and family records all help, and they should be consistent with each other.
Visiting family in Canada
If a relative in Canada is inviting you, an invitation letter and proof of your host's status and address can help. A letter alone does not guarantee approval. If you plan to bring a parent for a long stay, consider the Super Visa, which allows visits of up to five years at a time.
Biometrics and medical exams
Most applicants give biometrics at the Canada Visa Application Centre in Bangladesh after receiving a Biometric Instruction Letter. Super Visa applicants and some others need an immigration medical exam with an IRCC panel physician. Other visitors, for example those staying more than six months, may need one too, and IRCC will tell you.
Translations
Documents in Bengali need certified English translations. Do this before you submit, since missing translations are a common cause of delay.
If you were refused before
A previous refusal does not bar you from applying again, but a new application should address the reasons. Get advice first instead of simply reapplying with the same documents.
Get help from a licensed consultant
I can review your ties, funds and documents, in English or Bengali. No one can guarantee an approval.
